GoConnect Community Guidelines

1. Respect and Professionalism

Treat all members with respect. Engage constructively, whether in public discussions or within your private Circle chats. Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, bullying, or any form of abuse will not be tolerated. We aim for a supportive environment where diverse perspectives are valued.

Disagreements can happen, but communication must remain professional. Personal attacks, inflammatory language, or disruptive behavior undermine the collaborative spirit of GoConnect.

2. Circle Etiquette and Commitment

Circles are the core of GoConnect – small, private groups built on trust and shared goals. To make them effective:

• Confidentiality: What's shared in your Circle stays in your Circle. Respect the privacy and sensitivity of discussions, especially around project details or personal challenges. Do not share Circle chat content or member information outside the group.
• Commitment: Honor the commitment level agreed upon (e.g., Weekly Check-ins). Active participation is key to mutual progress. Be prepared for check-ins and provide thoughtful feedback to your peers.
• Focus: Keep discussions relevant to your Circle's defined goal, challenge, and purpose. While camaraderie is encouraged, ensure the primary focus remains on collective progress.
• Founder Responsibilities: Founders are responsible for guiding their Circle and ensuring a positive environment. This includes facilitating check-ins (if applicable) and addressing conflicts respectfully. Founders have the ability to exclude members who consistently violate guidelines or disrupt the group, but this should be done fairly and ideally after attempting to resolve the issue.

Remember, Circles rely on mutual accountability. Your consistent engagement directly impacts the value for everyone involved.

3. Content Standards

To maintain a safe and professional platform, the following are strictly prohibited:

• Spam & Unsolicited Promotion: Posting advertisements, irrelevant links, or promotional content for products/services is forbidden. GoConnect is ad-free, except for official platform announcements. Use your profile and Circle interactions for genuine connection, not marketing.
• Malicious Content: Sharing viruses, malware, phishing links, or any harmful software is strictly prohibited.
• Illegal Activities: Do not promote or engage in illegal acts.
• Hate Speech & Harassment:** (Covered in point 1, reinforced here). Content attacking individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, orientation, disability, etc., is unacceptable.
• Adult Content: Explicit, pornographic, or overly suggestive content is not allowed. Keep interactions professional.
• Misinformation:** Spreading demonstrably false or harmful information is prohibited.
• Impersonation: Do not impersonate other individuals or organizations.

Violations will lead to content removal and potential account sanctions, ranging from warnings to permanent suspension, depending on severity.

4. Communication Guidelines

Whether in Circle chats, direct messages (if applicable), or public comments, communication should be clear, concise, and respectful. Avoid spamming, excessive messaging, or sending unsolicited connection requests outside the intended features (like the Collaboration Matcher).

Sharing links is acceptable if relevant to the discussion, but avoid links to insecure sites, irrelevant promotions, or prohibited content.

5. Privacy and Information Sharing

Protect your own and others' privacy. Do not share sensitive personal information (financial details, passwords, social security numbers, private contact info like emails/phone numbers in public areas). Be mindful of sharing confidential business information or intellectual property, especially outside the trusted environment of your Circle.

GoConnect operates under European laws and standards. Serious violations may be reported to authorities.

6. Enforcement

Violation of these guidelines may result in actions including content removal, warnings, temporary restrictions, or permanent account suspension. We reserve the right to interpret these guidelines and make decisions based on maintaining a healthy community. Report violations through the appropriate channels (link or contact info if available).
